HR managers have probably seen all sorts of ways employees have shirked their duties. This woman allegedly went to a lot of trouble to keep from doing her job.
Debra Gottrell was hired to deliver phone books in the Las Cruces, NM, area.
Over the course of four years, Gottrell is accused of storing 100,000 directories in three storage units instead of delivering them.
Court records show she was indicted by a grand jury on a charge of fraud, according to KOB-TV.
Gottrell’s employer, Directory Plus, says it lost an estimated $500,000 because she didn’t deliver the phone books.
