When in Rome …

Looking to hire contractors? Do you go local or out of town? Here’s an argument for local.

Crews from North Carolina company Signage Industries installed two signs near downtown Columbia, South Carolina, that gave wrong directions.

The signs mistakenly pointed motorists away from the two colleges and an auditorium, according to wire service reports.

Fixing the signs wasn’t particularly difficult, but how do you make sure the mistake doesn’t happen again? Maybe they should hire locals.

But a Columbia city officials thinks he has a better idea: From now on, a Columbia worker will tag along with the North Carolina crews installing more than 100 new signs in the city.

Sounds like a goverment expensive solution…”taggin along”. Well, that would create a new job/task.

What ever happened to existing inspection before accepting the work done by Contractors or monitoring the Contractor’s QA/QC?
