Another contest to get a job

Is this a trend? Another company has asked potential employees to enter a contest to get a dream job.

First it was the caretaker job for a tropical Australian island.

Now, AirAsia is asking for entries from people who want to be a pilot — no experience required.

The Malaysian airline’s Web site makes it seem easy: “So YOU wanna be a pilot? Simple. What do you have to do? Blog. What? That’s it? Yes, you’re reading it right. Blog.”

The airline will select 10 finalists who will take part in the first round of new pilot intake.

The contest starts April 1. Hm. Has anyone noticed that’s April Fools’ Day?

In the new economy, maybe we will have reality game shows where the winner gets a $50,000 a year job working in an office the grand prize.

Haha, Nicole, that’s great! 2nd place – be their primary assistant for $40,000/yr and in 3rd, that person’s assistant for $30k.

I hope to God this is a joke but in today’s world, it wouldn’t be all that surprising if it wasn’t.

We already have the game shows – Donald Trump’s Apprentice, Next Top Model, Super Chef, etc. Not too much difference.
